After effect research

Image
After effects: For my film I have decided to use 1 or 2 different special effects! An idea would be for my title to make it more suspenseful and thriller like, unlike what it is now which is very digital. I will keep in the digital fade away as it links to the coder but I will incorporate blood dipping from the title for a split second which a glitch so its like a blink and its gone. This foreshadows the death of the coder which incorporates blood and gives the audience a clue as to what is happening. Another idea would to add in the after effect of adding a bright light during the gun shot then go to the shot of the coder dying on the floor. My third idea for an after effect would be to add in glitches or something related to the film into my credits. This would be because it links to the codes and coder. I could add flickers while the chase scene is happening white flash blood dripping from my title 'ASHE' Here are some tutorials of what after effects I'm look...

Preliminary task 1 rough edit

Image
ROUGH EDIT AND RESPONSE: PEER RESPONSE: GOOD:  Good and nice title and opening  Good correlation between sound and visuals  Music lines with the visuals  Good build up to suspense  Music fits well with the editing  Good that the credits for names come up when they come up on film Opening title is good Nice how music starts in beginning with black then title  Good transitions  WORK ON: Keep credits on for longer for the names of the actors Add an after effect Need to add the sound of the door when it shuts Change credits at the end to proper credits- like when it scrolls down  Define the suspense moment with the gun and the music correlating with it. MY RESPONSE: I will change my name credits for the actors during the film to be longer. This is so people can read their full name and then the name disappears to add to the suspense. I like this idea! The after effect i will add is still to be decided>> i will choose from a...

Opening sequences

Image
What is the purpose of opening sequences? An opening sequence is a method where films and TV programs present their title and key production and cast members, utilising conceptual visuals and sound. It usually includes the text of opening credits, and helps establish the setting and tone of the program.  Basically the opening sequences introduces a film. This will obviously differ depending on the genre of the film, such as an action thriller; this thriller would include guns, weapons and fighting to make the genre clear to the audience.  These are the also known as 'OPENING CREDITS'. An opening sequence gives credits to the people involved in the film and the technical side such as cameraman and editor.  So overall, the purpose of the opening sequences is 2 main things: 1. To set the scene by making it clear to the audience where it's based and roughly what is going on and what the film is about. 2. It also gives clues to the audience of what the genre of the film is a...

Treatment (PL1)

Treatment For Ashe Prepared by Mele, Kevin and Porcia 5/03/2021 It is proposed that the film will be 1 to 1 ½ Minutes duration, and that it will be filmed at school, we have chosen this location because it is easy access for all of us as a group and because this is our first ever film, so we will need guidance from our teacher. ( Mele ) This film will include the following conventions of thriller films: Symbolism and Iconography: The hue of Red will symbolise death, the assassin will be wearing red, which links to the fact that red symbolises death, also linking to the fact that she is going to kill someone, assassinate. A gun will be held facing the second guy which will intensify the suspense being built up throughout the film. Sound: At the very beginning of the film we will have eerie and suspenseful music, to set the mood of the film, it will be very soft in volume. We will then have the diegetic sound of the phone call and the man talking. For the chase scene we will switch i...

Learning to use equipment

Image
Camera, Lighting, Sound: Today we learned how to use the camera sound and flickers.  We used a Sony XD cam. We attached a microphone to to the camera to capture sound. The flicker was used to capture 3 point lighting. We also learned how to use white balance on the camera by zooming up to something white and clicking white balance then record.  We practiced  our hand held camera shots which will be used in our groups chase scene.  We also used a red hue. We also tried to create a silhouette but with low lighting it came out blurry.

Props and costumes (PT1)

Image
PROPS AND COSTUMES: PROPS:  For props we have decided to incorporate a gun as the killing machine. The gun will belong to the assassin who will prepare her equipment including the gun and be seen polishing her gun. The gun will be used by the assassin to kill the coder. Blood will be incorporated after the coder being shot. Blood will be gushing and splashed everywhere after the shoo ting. The blood will be splashed over the wall and will be dripping down the wall as seen in a shot where the camera is facing the mirror. Here, the audience will be able to see the coder fall to ground. We will make our own blood from things we have at home and i will link the ingredients needed to make it down below.  INGREDIANTS:  1. corn syrup  2. red food colouring 3. cocoa mix Access cards will be used in our film to symbolise that the 'bad guys' will get anything they want even the access cards that keep people safe and keeps intruders from entering. From using a...
